Welcome to the DigiTiles Pages! Here you'll find the multi year side project that turned into something much bigger.
So, you may be asking " What's a DigiTile?"; a fair question!. Here's the best answer I can give -
DigiTiles came about from a desire to create patterns. I had been creating designs in a sketchbook and I wanted to tinker with the idea of duplication and transformation. This started a process with scanned drawings and then evolved into digital doodles which I call *Icons* that become DigiTiles. Over the last decade I've come up with rules to guide each design group; along with names like Spectrum or OddFlower. The newest, which you'll see are my featured DigiTiles are the Zenith Kaleidoscopes. Look at the evolution between the DigiTiles that I group into Original 2016 and the Zenith Group. A lot has changed! and things may continue to change until I reach the last Collection year 2026.

From Icon to DigiTile - featuring Icon | Spectrum | Carbon | Nebula | Graphite
So, maybe you're wondering what making a DigiTile looks like?
well on the video to your left you'll see the process. I take a small linear doodle, which I've taken to calling an Icon. Then I take the Icon, duplicate it and start the process of creating an overall central design.
I then duplicate, apply effects, resize, create multiple layers, adjust opacities until I feel I have the first DigiTile, which is usually a Spectrum Ruby.
From there I continue until I have over 150 variations or styles.
Each DigiTile contributes to the next. They are all connected; They are all family.
and I think that's one of the reasons I enjoy making these so much. Because no matter how different they are, they all have a common root, an Icon.
